Workshop- Vicarious Trauma in Animal Welfare
Workshop- Vicarious Trauma in Animal Welfare
Working in animal welfare is profoundly rewarding, yet deeply challenging. Professionals like veterinarians, vet techs, and animal shelter staff constantly face the realities of animal suffering, neglect, abuse, and death. This consistent exposure can lead to vicarious trauma, where internalizing these experiences profoundly impacts well-being. This workshop helps you understand vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout, enabling you to spot early warning signs in yourself and colleagues. You'll gain practical self-care tools and learn to build supportive workplaces, ensuring you can sustain your vital work with animals.
Admission $10.00 + pet food donation.
